And from 1st June 2002, MESCOM had taken over the responsibility of KPTCL (Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited) for distribution of electricity in 5 districts and later CESCOM was carved out of MESCOM in 2005 in order to cater electricity consumers in Mysore region.
